About You

Has at least 2 years of relevant experience

Is committed to handling patients with care and compassion

Demonstrates excellent communication skills when interacting with the team and with clients

Has the ability to work well under pressure and possesses good time management skills

Is adaptable and accepts challenges positively
-
Additional qualifications with the AVTAA or equivalent would be desirable but not necessary
The Role
-
Assisting veterinary surgeons to induce, maintain, and monitor recovery of patients
-
Assist veterinary surgeons before, during and after surgical procedures
-
Monitor sedation and restrain patients for ultrasounds
-
Inpatient care for critical and non-critical cases
-
Place IV catheters
-
Cleaning and stocking of anaesthetic supplies
-
Cleaning and maintenance of anaesthetic equipment, oxygen cages, and heating devices
-
Take radiographs as requested by the veterinarian
-
Conduct laboratory procedures (e.g. collecting blood and urine specimens, running in-house lab tests etc.)

Update clients on patient status in a professional and empathetic manner
